Parish Directory 2008

The ability of a church to communicate with its members to exchange information is an essential part of organization. We would like to continue our ability to communicate and would like to “upgrade” the quality of our information. The first natural outgrowth of this effort will be a new Parish Directory!  I thought that there was no change in my personal information since I had not changed residences, but then I was reminded that I had changed e-mail addresses and that my wife had her own new e-mail address. My point is that those changes are so subtle that we forget that they have happened! Cell phones, e-mail addresses, children that leave the nest (I’m going to sound like “Fiddler on the Roof”!)

Please fill out the inserted form completely and give us your most current, up-to-date information. We, of course, will not share this information with any individual or business. We use it only to communicate with you. You may drop the form in one of the blue boxes in the North and South Entrances, or the center Narthex to the church. You may also fax, email, or mail the form to the church office. Thank you for your time and patience in filling this form out and waiting for an updated Parish Directory.

Sundays at 9:20 am (Kinloch Room)

Multigenerational Summer Sunday School to Begin June 8th
This summer we will be offering Sunday school for the whole church family! We will meet in the Youth Room from 9:20 – 10:20 am on Sundays until August 31st and will be using the Family Time curriculum. This is a great opportunity for the St. Michael’s Church family to have fun learning about Jesus and the Bible together! Different families/groups will lead the lesson each week—and there is something for everyone to help with. All materials and instructions will be provided. This class is the only offering for children, youth and adults this summer. Whether you have children or not, we invite you to join us for a joy-filled morning! If you want more information or are interested in helping to lead this great program, contact Amy Smith at 723-0603.

Teachers, Shepherds, Worship Leaders,…Many Children’s Ministry Opportunities Now Available for the Fall
Do you smile every time you see one of those precious, silly, giggly faces of the many children who attend Sunday school and one of our services each week? Do you have to stop yourself from laughing at the shenanigans of the squirming toddler in the pew in front of you? Do you get a kick out of telling Bible stories or talking about your faith? Do you love to teach? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to but never had the chance? Are you creative? Organized? Musical? Tell jokes or play games? Do you just have a heart for children?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, God just might be calling you to the Children’s Ministry. There are many opportunities in Children’s Ministry from teaching to story telling to rocking babies to helping “behind the scenes”—and we are not just looking for the parents of young ones to help out in this important ministry.

Please fill out a volunteer form for Children’s Ministry. It will also be available in the Welcome Center in the Narthex of the church. Contact me at 723-0603 ext. 7583 or by email at amy@stmichaelschurch.net if you are feeling led to the Children’s Ministry. I am eager to talk with you about your gifts, talents, experience, and your heart’s desire and how they may fit with the needs of our ministry.—Amy
