The Vestry held a regular monthly meeting on January 26, 2017. The primary topics of discussion were as follows:
Year End Financials and Stewardship
Treasurer Gary DiCamillo reported that the church finished the fiscal year strong. Final income and expenses for 2016 track the church’s 2016 balanced budget, and the church has begun 2017 with no debt. In addition, the church has received pledges for 2017 equal to those received for 2016, so no adjustment to the 2017 budget is needed.
The Vestry discussed the Rev. Mark Avera’s transition to Church of the Resurrection and the announcement to the staff and congregation. The Vestry approved hiring the Rev. Ted McNabb on a temporary basis to lead worship at the 9:30 and 6:00 services. The Vestry discussed the current vacancy in the director of missions position and authorized beginning a search to fill that position on a permanent basis. The rector reported that the church has received several applications for the newly created senior associate rector position and will begin reviewing those applications shortly. The senior warden reported that the Building and Grounds Committee is working to replace the services provided by property manager Rob McRae.
