Loving Each Other Deeply: Sanctity of Life Sunday

Sermon on Sunday
Loving Each Other Deeply:
Sanctity of Life Sunday
How do we love each other deeply? Why is it sometimes so hard to love each other deeply? Today we read one of the most challenging passages in all of the Bible, it’s a story called the “slaughter of the innocents.” Herod wanting the infant Jesus dead takes no chances and orders the death of all boys under the age of 2 in Bethlehem. In our day, the slaughter of the “innocents” continues not only in the form of abortion, but in the form of a growing arrogance and disregard for human life period. Today, Churches all over the world will be preaching on the power and the sanctity of life, yet at the end of the day, we will never understand the preciousness of life until we understand how to love each other deeply, as Jesus loves us.
