Dynamic Downtown Worship in the Anglican Tradition

Like A Bridge Over Troubled Waters

The Rev. Ted McNabb was our preacher at 8:00 am and 10:30 am in the Sanctuary.

“I have set my bow in the cloud and it shall be a sign of the covenant I have made…”

Seventy percent of the earth is dominated by water.  Ninety percent of this is ocean with rivers and rain taking the rest.  In the midst of this the human species stands on various islands of terra firma.  We are not fish. We need a place to stand, secure footing to keep our head above water and breathe.

Living where we do we know all too well and all too recently that ancient and powerful chaos rhythmically pounding on the borderlines of where we stand and live.  And we know the real threat of storms that drag chaos deep across the border. Deep waters have forever been the symbol for “sin”… that overwhelming thing that separates us from what it means to really “live.”

But God has set his bow in the heavens as a covenant promise and sent his Son to the earth to keep it.  Come and hear the connection of baptism, rainbows, and the solid hope upon which a Christian life stands.
