Sermon on Sunday
Justice, Mercy, and the Power of Prayer
Genesis 18 is one of the most riveting interactions between God and humankind in the Bible. Here we find Abraham standing in the very presence of God bargaining for a city, Sodom, proverbial for its wickedness. The exchange is riveting yes, but what are to we make of it? And how should it inform our own walk with God? Are we too called to bargain and barter with the Almighty? This Sunday, we will discover, surprisingly, that this passage has everything to do with the Father’s heart, the divine outworking of justice and mercy, and perhaps our highest calling of all, the call to pray.
