Gifts that Keep on Giving
Gifts are meant to be given. And while we give gifts for all sorts of reasons and occasions, when they are given there is the expectation that they will be opened and then either utilized or enjoyed. It is disappointing to give a gift and see it go unopened, or, once opened, to see it put upon a shelf only to gather dust. Then there are those gag gifts, or gifts that are meant only for a brief season of use. But other gifts are said to “keep on giving.” This Sunday, the apostle Paul reminds us that God is the ultimate giver of every good and perfect gift. And the gifts He gives result in more and more giving until God’s purposes are accomplished.
