Dr. Steve Dodson has been the senior pastor of the Cumming (GA) First United Methodist Church since June 2018. He is a Georgia native and fourth generation Methodist preacher. He has also led churches in Peachtree City, Memphis, Augusta, Lawrenceville, Cartersville and Marietta. Dr. Dodson earned degrees from Wofford College, Emory University and Asbury Theological Seminary. In addition, Dodson has studied at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta and the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University.
He currently serves as Chair of the Board of TMS Global and has worked closely with the International Leadership Institute to train and equip Christian leaders to share the Gospel locally and internationally. Dodson has preached and taught on mission trips in India, Togo, Zambia, Liberia, and Guatemala. In addition, he is a frequently requested evangelist at churches, revivals, and camp meetings across the South.
He and his wife, Susan, have a daughter and son-in-law in South Carolina and two grandsons.
