When I Find Myself Doing Things I Do Not Want to Do

Who among us doesn’t struggle with self control? As Alexander Woollcott once said, “All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening.” Even as Christians we are ensnared in a struggle between our inordinate and carnal desires and our higher and healthier desires found in Christ. In fact, if we’re honest with ourselves we may not even want to possess the capacity for self control. Sunday morning we continue our sermon series on the Fruit of the Spirit by exploring this oft-neglected, yet all-important Fruit of self-control.
