Dynamic Downtown Worship in the Anglican Tradition

From The Rev. Rich Giersch

Dear Friends of St Michael’s Church,

Let me begin by saying it has been a blessing to be a part of the St. Michael’s Family these past three years. Your friendship, support, and grace has helped my family in so many ways and we are better for our time served with you.

My season, however, at St Michael’s has cycled through and I must be moving to where the Lord is calling. I am reminded of the verse found in Matthew chapter 8; And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” Much like our Savior, the call of the Priest is to go where God is calling and not get too comfortable in one place. Our security is found in Christ alone.

There are multiple reasons for this letter though. I have been able to speak with many of you already face to face. One reason for this note, is to clearly state that my departure is not for any moral or ethical reasons. I know all too well that Satan loves to fill in the blanks for our questions. My departure is based on practical reasons and the simple fact that God is calling me out of my former season into my new season with Him. Many of you have been so kind and encouraging to me and I plan to stay in touch. I look forward to witness what God is birthing at St Michael’s Church this next year. I can always be reached by phone, and my memories of you the congregation will always be a part of my DNA.

Please keep my family and me in your prayers as we move forward with God.

Blessings,

The Rev. Giersch

With great appreciation for the Rev. Rich Giersch, his music ministry and relational gifts, we are sad to say that Rich is leaving St. Michael’s. His ministry has been full of blessings and we appreciate Rich greatly. He is loved and we all have our “Rich stories.” Having known Rich for over 20 years, I know our paths will continue to cross both personally and right here at St. Michael’s. We are providing assistance and support as Rich transitions to a new ministry. I am grateful that the Rev. Ted McNabb has stepped in as our part-time interim worship leader, and Scott Myers in our Audio Visual ministry. Thank you Rich Giersch!

Blessings,

The Rev. Al Zadig, Jr.
