Our next mission — our 11th! — to Burundi happens next month. We thank everyone who has offered prayer support; we certainly feel it.
We leave Friday, June 9th, fly through Washington and Addis Ababa Ethiopia to Bujumbura. We return Wednesday, June 21st. We are so looking forward to seeing our longtime partners, Simon, Freddy, Onesphore, Emmanuel, and offering them and a large group of pastors training in one of St. Michael’s greatest strengths, Prayer Ministry.
The team has come together, nicely, blessedly, representing St. Michael’s and two other churches. And each of the team has taken responsibility for a major aspect of the teaching, and the preparation. Dan McNeill, David Richardson, Jeanette Winfield, Park and Martha Dougherty, Leslie Burton, Susalee Sasser, Linda and Dave Soutter. What a team! Plus Jean and Johnnie Corbett, who have been so helpful in designing the mission.
Though the centerpiece is two two-day pastors training sessions, we also will be preaching and offering testimonies in churches in Bujumbura and Gitega on Sundays, visiting the site of the proposed medical clinic and dedicating the land, maybe even breaking ground. What will be especially fun will be joining Freddy at Gitaga International Academy for its celebration of its first graduation.
We will be sending updates along and along. But we covet your prayers of support. For travel mercies, for opening hearts to the Gospel, for good health and as the Lord leads you.
But mostly we thank St. Michael’s for all she has done for Burundi and for the Gospel there.
