Praise and Glory Jars

By Eunice Logan

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, ‘rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.’ Colossians 2:6

As a child and having children that put coins into those little boxes that we made in Sunday School was a memorable time of thanking God for the things He did for me on a daily basis. I then graduated to United Thank Offering boxes, little blue boxes,  for the Diocesan Women’s Ministries. Now we have Praise and Glory jars to thank God for answered prayers for ourselves and others — or just to praise Him for a beautiful day displaying His Glory and Majesty.

It is very simple.  Choose a jar; attach a Praise and Glory Label for your offerings. (Labels will be available beginning in Lent.) Offerings collected will fund scholarships for the Diocesan Women’s Retreats in memory of Martha Horn. At the end of Lent, add up the amount you collected in your jar and write a check to St. Michael’s Church, earmarked Praise & Glory Jars. St. Michael’s will write one check to the Diocesan Scholarship fund for Diocesan Women’s Retreats.
