Title: Assistant for Discipleship and Mission

Position description:  Oversee the discipleship and mission ministries at St. Michael’s as well as the mission of the Church of the Resurrection, North Charleston. Assistant clergy on Sunday at the 6:00 pm service.

Family: Happily married to Joy.  Five kids – Parker, Shelton, Caroline, Emily and Sarah – three grown and gone (or going) and two at home and in high school.

Favorite books: Lost in the Cosmos (Walker Percy), The Abolition of Man (CS Lewis), Godric (Buechner), Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury), The Pearl (Steinbeck), The Book Thief (Zusak), The Great Divorce (Lewis), Life Together (Bonhoeffer).

Favorite movies: Luther, Les Misérables, The Passion of the Christ, Sherlock Holmes (Downey, Jr and Cumberbatch), The Bourne Triology, The Batman/Dark Knight Trilogy, Braveheart, Inception, Remember the Titans.

Likes best about the Lowcountry: What’s not to like?  History, culture, amazing natural beauty, great food, and the St Michael’s steeple dominating the downtown skyline.

Most interesting assignment: Raising five crazy and wonderful kids with my lovely and crazy wife
