Mission Update

The summer is always an exciting time for mission, as many mission trips are launched from churches all over the country to all parts of the world.  St. Michael’s and St. Michaelites are involved in three such mission trips this summer.  Dave and Linda Soutter will be leading a healing prayer team to Burundi June 9th-21st. Sign up to get daily updates and be a prayer intercessor for the Burundi Mission. Mid-simmer, July 6th-22nd, some of our parishioners will be joining our former Alpha Director Nena Jackson to partner with Simon Mwaura in Kenya, to offer Alpha training to pastors and VBS training and support at orphanages.  And then before school starts, the youth are joining forces with the LAMB Institute in Honduras from August 5th-12th.

Parishioner Jo Cox has graciously stepped into the role of Holy City Captain and will be working with our local ministry partners to develop more opportunities for you to engage in mission in our community. View the Holy City Mission Opportunities.  Special thanks to MaryAnne Poole and her team of dedicated volunteers at Sanders Clyde, where amazing and vital ministry is taking place every day.

Church of the Resurrection in North Charleston continues to grow in numbers and in discipleship, with full houses on Sundays (but there is always room for more if you visit) and solid participation in mid-week Bible studies. Follow the Church of the Resurrection on Facebook.  Several St. Michaelites are part of the Bible studies and others have joined us for worship.  Plans are being made to run a fall Alpha this year.

We are still engaging in a search for our next Director of Mission. Please hold up the search committee in your prayers.
