Greetings from St. Albans at The Citadel

It is hard to believe that the fall semester is already behind us and that the spring semester is in high gear!

As Father Al announced in the fall, St. Michael’s has increased its college ministry presence at The Citadel, specifically coming alongside St. Alban’s, the Anglican ministry already established on campus. Many of you have come to St. Alban’s Chapel already and joined us in worship and we would like to invite any who would come to join us when you can. St. Alban’s meets for worship on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. at St. Alban’s Chapel, located inside of Summerall Chapel, along the Avenue of Remembrance, on the campus of The Citadel.

Some of the highlights from the fall semester included a visit from Bishop Lawrence during Parent’s Weekend. Bishop Lawrence blessed the newly received class rings of the Class of 2017. All in attendance were proud of the St. Alban’s seniors on their hard-earned accomplishment!

This fall we also celebrated the baptism of Cadet Beau Burnett (praise God!). The Rev. Canon Doug Peterson baptized Cadet Burnett during a Monday night worship service. Everyone at the service cheerfully welcomed Cadet Burnett into the Household of God!

We ask for your continued prayers as the spring semester moves along, specifically for:

  • Midterm Exams (2/28 – 3/7)
  • St. Alban’s Spiritual Retreat to Mooresville, N.C. (3/3-3/5)
  • Recognition Day (when 4th class cadets become upperclassmen) (3/18)
  • Spring Break (3/24 – 4/2)
  • Final Exams (4/26 – 5/2)
  • Class of 2017 Graduation (5/6)

Thank you, St. Michael’s, for your continued love and support of the St. Alban’s ministry!

The Rev. Canon Doug Peterson is the interim chaplain to St. Alban’s and Nik Holum is volunteer assistant the chaplain.
