Global Impact Celebration

Sunday, January 22 – Sunday, January 29, 2023

As we’ve struggled through a global pandemic and the resulting unrest, so many of us long for change. God’s story, the Bible, teaches that the only way to true, lasting change is through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the gospel story becomes theoverarching narrative of our stories, it releases the power of transformation in and through our hearts and lives to make adifference in our families, communities, nations, and world. Because the gospel is the good news of change for everyone, ourtheme for the 10th annual Global Impact Celebration is Come and See: How the Gospel Changes Our Story.

Throughout the Bible, God invites people to come and see so that the world may know Him by entering His story. With song, thepsalmist calls worshippers to come and see what God has done and then speak of his awesome deeds (66:5). Through Jesus, theWord made flesh dwelling among His people, God beckons humanity to come and see who He is and what He is doing to redeemour story (John 1:39, 46). Even, through the unlikeliest of people—an unloved, unaccepted, and unsuccessful Samaritan woman—God invites us to come and see how an encounter with Jesus changes one person’s story to change many others (John 4).

Exploring the way Jesus draws out the story of the woman at the well through gospel conversation that leads to her transformationwill equip us to engage others through our own stories of gospel change. Wherever God calls us to join him in His mission—athome, in the holy city, hurting coast, or hungering world—we will invite others to come and see how the gospel changes our story.
