We have a few spaces left for the high school mission trip to Honduras through the Lamb Institute. The Rev. Al Zadig, Jr, and Hugh Buyck, Sr. will be leading the trip, with Jane Dowd as our team administrator. The Trip dates are August 5-12. We are partnering with the Lamb Institute which is a Christ-centered, multifaceted ministry based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The Institute seeks to share the hope found in Christ Jesus as it cares for, educates, protects, and empowers those suffering extreme poverty, abuse, and exploitation in Honduras. Today, LAMB operates an elementary school for children in one of the most violent and poverty stricken areas of Tegucigalpa, a large youth outreach program, a growing microcredit program with over 300 small business owners, a safe house for victims of human trafficking, multiple community programs, and a residential home outside the city for over 70 children who came from abuse and neglect. LAMB was founded in 1999 by lifelong missionary and Charlestonian, Suzy McCall, as a training school for Hondurans called to world mission.
The purpose of our mission trip will be to:
- Offer hands on ministry to the 70 children at the Children’s Home.
- Help with the microcredit program designed to help women grow their small businesses.
- Support the largest aspect of the New Life Anti-Trafficking Program and the safe house which is a place of retreat and renewal for girls and women who are being rescued from human trafficking.
- Help construction projects on Lamb Institute sites.
