Dynamic Downtown Worship in the Anglican Tradition

Annual Meeting Festival of Faith Plans: Acting on Your Feedback

Please keep three dates on your calendar. As is our annual tradition, we will be having our Festival of Faith/Annual Meeting on May 7. This is so important for the whole St. Michael’s Church Family! Why? We will gather to elect new members of our Vestry (Church board) and delegates to the convention as well as take a look back at 2016 and a look forward to next year. Last year we received important feedback:

  1. Give the congregation more time to look over the annual report before the annual meeting
  2. Have a question and answer time before the annual meeting on the budget
  3. Shorten the time of the Annual Meeting

So, we are saying yes to all three requests! On Sunday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 3, we will hold a vestry open house. The purpose of the open house will be to answer any questions you may have about the budget, the annual report, affiliation with the Anglican Church of North America or anything else on your mind.  The two identical open houses will be Sunday, April 30 during tool time (9:15-10:30) and Wednesday May 3 at 6 p.m., both held in the Kinloch Room.

Yes, the time of the Annual Meeting will be shortened and adjusted.  Instead of having it after the 10:30 service, we will hold it from 9:30-10:30 on Sunday, May 7.  Yes, it will be tight, but it is possible!  The advantage to 9:30 is that our 8 o’clockers can come right after the early Eucharist, those who come to church at 9:30 can participate at that hour and we ask the 10:30 attenders to come an hour early! Following the annual meeting, we will have a shortened 10:30 service followed by a wonderful picnic. We ask all 6 o’clockers to come at 9:30!!  Remember, we are all a family and there are times when the family needs to be in the same room!
