Christian Formation

O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old-what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. –Psalm 78: 1-6

Multigenerational Summer Sunday School Class is a Hit with All Ages!

This summer we are offering Sunday School for the whole church family! We meet in the Kinloch Room from 9:20-10:20 am on Sundays, but get there early to get a seat! The lesson for each week is interactive and appropriate for all ages. Each session is taught by a different family or groups so things are always unique and often quite surprising. Upcoming teachers and lessons are:

August 17 - Lesson 15: Bent & Torn - Led by Matt & Mandy Ronchetto

August 24 - Lesson 16: Got You Covered - Led by the Youth Group and Youth Leaders

August 31 - Lesson 18: The Company We Keep

This is a great opportunity for the St. Michael’s Church family to have fun learning about Jesus and the Bible together!. This class is the only offering for children, youth and adults this summer. Regardless of your stage in life, this is not to be missed! If you want more information or would like to lead a session, contact Amy at 723-0603 or by email at amy@stmichaelschurch.net.

Teachers, Shepherds, Worship Leaders…

Many Children’s Ministry Opportunities Now Available for the Fall

Do you smile every time you see one of those precious, silly, giggly faces of the many children who attend Sunday school and one of our worship services each week? Do you have to stop yourself from laughing at the shenanigans of the squirming toddler in the pew in front of you? Do you get a kick out of telling Bible stories or talking about your faith? Do you love to teach? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to but never had the chance? Are you creative? Organized? Musical? Tell jokes or play games? Do you just have a heart for children?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, God just might be calling you to the Children’s Ministry. There are many opportunities in Children’s Ministry from teaching to story telling to rocking babies to helping “behind the scenes”—and we are not just looking for the parents of young ones to help out in this important ministry.

*What Happens on Morning Prayer Sundays?
Morning Prayer Sundays are on the last Sunday of each month and the children’s ministry opportunities differ from regular Holy Communion service days. On Morning Prayer Sundays, children ages 3 through 11 go with their parents to church for the first half of the service. Following the announcements during the hymn, one of the adult volunteers holding a cross will lead the elementary children up the center aisle, out the door of the sacristy and over to the Belser Building across the church yard. Elementary-aged children will go directly to the Kinloch Room on the first floor for the Big Kidz Worship Service.

Children ages 3-5 should be taken by their parents to the Little Lambs Service located in the Youth Room on the second floor of the Belser Building. Please be patient as these children are checked in by a volunteer. Following the 10:30 service, parents may pick up their preschool-aged children in the Youth Room. Elementary students will remain in the Kinloch Room to be picked up by parents. Please instruct your children to remain in the Kinloch Room until you arrive.
